December Den Meeting

We will move the Den Meeting for December to Tuesday 12/08/09. Lisa Baraji is trying to get the meeting room at Mountain View Library. But is she cannot we will meet at their house. Stay tuned...

USS Yorktown - Still some slots left

Dear Parents:

I know the USS Yorktown trip is far away and everyone is busy with Thanksgiving and the upcoming holidays. Nevertheless, the Pack needs to pay for the trip 2 months in advance.

Therefore, if you signed up at the last pack meeting and gave me your payment, you are good to go.
If you signed up and DID NOT PAY you MUST DO SO BY December 1st. No exceptions. I am leaving town on December 3rd!!!
If you are not on my list and you would like to go, please call me or e-mail me asap; we still have a few spots.

Webelos I and II, but not excluding:
If you have financial constraints that keep you and especially your child from going on this trip, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am home over Thanksgiving break and no one is visiting so please feel free to call me with questions. (cell 770-289-7969)

Scout Day at Autrey Mills

Check out the Scout Expo and Scout Day activities for next Saturday 11/21/09 on the Pack 471 Website. Alex and I will be attending the Autrey Mills Activity. Tiger Scouts can earn up to 4 belt loops at this event, including:

Geology, Marbles, Map & Compass, and Wildlife Conservation.

This is an optional event, but let me know if you are planning to go so I can keep an eye out for you. No reservations required and $5.00 per scout.

Directions: Take Holcomb Bridge Road South.
Cross over GA 400
Turn Left on Old Alabama Road
Drive 4 to 5 miles.
Autrey Mills Nature Preserve and Heritage Center is located off of Old Alabama Road between Jones Bridge Road and Hwy 141.

November Achievements

I will be calling each Den family tonight to check on any achievements that have been earned and make sure I have an updated list of all achievement beads and belt loops. I will turn in the Den 11 Achievement Report tomorrow morning.

Cagle's Dairy - Sunday 11/15/09 at 2:00 PM

We are headed to Cagle's Dairy this coming Sunday, November 15, 2009 for our next Go-See-It. Please give yourself plenty of time to drive, park and gather ahead of the tour at 2:00 PM.

I am psyched about this one!

Directions:
From Alpharetta and Gwinnett County
State Route 120 runs west from Gwinnett County into downtown Alpharetta.
1. SR 120 turns left onto State Route 9 in Alpharetta. Do not turn.
2. Go straight across SR 9 onto Old Milton Parkway
3. You will pass Wills Park on your left.
4. At the red light Old Milton Pky. becomes Rucker Road; go straight. Go about 2 miles to Eckerd Pharmacy on your right.
5. Turn right onto State Route 140 aka Houze Road. (No turn for about 10 miles)
6. Go straight at Crabapple Crossing on State Route 140 aka Arnold Mill Rd.
7. When you cross the River Bridge entering Cherokee County, 140 west aka Hickory Flat Highway bears right.
8. At Publix and East Cherokee Rd. Red light, continue straight on State Route 140.
9. Go 1 mile turn left at Stringer Rd./ Cagle’s Dairy Sign; Go 1 mile.
From West Atlanta (or) Marietta
1. Take 75 North to I-575
2. Take right onto I-575
3. Exit 11 at Sixes Rd.
4. Turn right at end of ramp into Sixes Rd
5. At the tee, turn left onto Canton Hwy (old Hwy 5).
6. Go about 3 miles to Hickory Road and make a right. Follow it about 4.5 miles to Stringer Rd.
7. Turn left at large Cagle’s Dairy sign onto Stringer Road.
8. Dairy is .10 mile.
From Canton and I-575
1. Take GA- 140 east toward Roswell approximately 6 miles
2. Turn Right at Cagle’s Dairy sign onto Stringer Road. Go 1 mile to Tour Parking.
Note: If you miss turn you will come to CVS and Walgreen, Turn around, go back about 1 mile.
